LOS ANGELES, CA – The city that popularized the fast food drive-thru has a new innovation: 24-hour medical marijuana vending machines. Patients suffering from chronic pain, loss of appetite and other ailments that marijuana is known to alleviate can get their pot with a dose of convenience around the city, where these machines will dole out the drug around the clock. Colorado is aiming to set up a tracking system that prevents black-market mayhem from infiltrating its local communities. It seems that Colorado could use this type of service as a cheap and effective way to track the sale and use of medical marijuana. A marijuana vending machine would never be able to replace the personal touch, knowledge and advice of your friendly neighborhood budtender, but could be a way for medical marijuana dispensarys to offer medication in a convenient way that would also track sales for tax purposes.
